Intro to Knitting with Anj: Wednesday, November 6, 13 & 20, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, $85

This class is for the absolute beginner. The only requirement is that you want to learn.

Students will learn the basics of knitting. You will learn how to cast on, knit , purl, knit in the round using circular and double pointed needles, and do basic decreases. At the end you will (hopefully) have a basic ski cap.

The fee covers everything you need, except for two hands and your sense of adventure. Space is limited, call or stop in the store to register.

Hippos! Happypotamus: Sundays, November 3t & 17, 1 pm – 4 pm, $80

Beginner Socks with Kelly: Saturdays, November 9 & 16, 1 pm – 4:00 pm, $80

This two part workshop will introduce students to the magical simplicity of sock knitting. Students will learn the German twisted cast on, turning a heel with short rows, tips for improving your decreases, and the dreaded (but not actually dreadful!) kitchener stitch.

Class level: advanced beginner

Participants should know how to knit, purl, work in the round, cast on, bind off.

Students will complete the first sock of a pair in this class using the free Rye pattern from Tin Can Knits. Please note that, in the interest of time, we will be knitting a shortened modification (i.e. a 1-2” leg).
